Basketball League Kerala Announces Selection Trials for Shortlisted Players from 'One Minute to Hoop' Challenge- April 29, 2026

Thiruvananthapuram: Taking the next major step in building a structured talent pathway, the Basketball League Kerala (BLK) has announced the Selection Trials for players shortlisted from the highly successful “One Minute to Hoop” (OMH) Skill Challenge. The OMH initiative, designed and executed by Starting Five Sports Management Pvt Ltd in association with the Kerala Basketball Association (KBA) and ABC Basketball Development League Pvt Ltd, has emerged as a first-of-its-kind, data-driven talent identification program in the state. Out of 1150 registrations received across Kerala, 615 participants have been shortlisted to move into the Selection Trials round across the Under-14 (Boys & Girls) and Under-19 (Boys & Girls) categories. Selection Trials Schedule: - May 1st – Devagiri College - Calicut May 2nd – RSC Kochi - Ernakulam May 3rd – University Senate Hall Court, Trivandrum The shortlisted players have been identified based on their performances in the OMH Skill Challenge, which assessed participants across Shooting, Dribbling, and Defense through a structured one-minute evaluation format. Strong District Representation: The trials will feature players selected from across multiple districts in Kerala, reflecting a wide and inclusive talent pool. Franchisees to Scout Talent: All six BLK franchise teams will be present at the Selection Trials: Trivandrum Capitals,Alappuzha Dolphins, Kottayam Bisons, Kochi Stallions ,Thrissur Taskers ,Calicut Warriors . Road to Player Auction: The Player Auction is scheduled on May 17th in Kochi, where franchisees will build their squads.
