The South Korean National Basketball team has begun training this week in Anyang, in preparation for their Olympic qualifiers with Russia and the Dominican Republic this July in Venezuela.
According to Seo Jung-hwan of Jumpball Magazine, the KBA has selected 24 players, including 19 professionals for the tryouts. The team will be whittled down to 16 after the 11 day camp.
Nine mens national teams (Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, France, Great Britain, Spain, Tunisia and USA) have already qualified. The last three teams will qualify via the 12-team FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) for men taking place in Caracas, Venezuela, June 2nd to the 8th. The OQT (Men) teams are: Angola, Dominican Republic, FYROM, Greece, Jordan, Korea, Lithuania, New Zealand, Nigeria, Puerto Rico, Russia and hosts Venezuela according to the London 2012 website.

Guo Ailun (192-SF-93) answered with 17 points in the losing effort and Li Muhao (218-C-92) had 12. Sun TongLin (208-F/C-92) and Wang Zhelin (215-PF-94) followed them with 11 points each in defeat.

Kim Jong-Kyu (207-C-91) netted 20 points to lead the effort. It was a lopsided affair right from the start. South Korea did not waste time powering to a 32:9 lead at the first break. South Korea stayed in front throughout the second quarter. They boosted the lead to as many as 32 points at halftime 56:24. South Korea and Hong Kong slowed down a bit in the third term. The teams traded baskets as the Korean side remained in a comfortable lead. The hosts poured in 27 points in the fourth period and sealed the winning outcome at the end. Park Jae-Hyun (187-G-91) produced 15 points, while Kim Min-Goo added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Liang Man Hung (173-G-86) responded with 15 points for Hong Kong. Reid Duncan had 13 points and 8 boards in the loss.
