Changwon LG Sakers (KBL) re-signed 24-year old Filipino 200cm forward
Carl Tamayo for the new season. He was a team leader there last season. In 60 KBL games, he averaged an impressive 15.2ppg, 6.0rpg, and 2.1apg. He helped them win the league title despite ending the regular season in second place. Tamayo can count that season as very successful as he was awarded Asia-Basket.com All-South Korean League Forward of the Year, voted to the All-Defensive Team, and selected to the All-Imports Team. The previous (2023-24) season, he played for
Golden Kings (B1 League) in the Japanese league. He also played 23 games in the Japanese B1 League, where he had 3.9ppg and 2.5rpg that year.
Tamayo represented the Philippines at the FIBA Asia Cup in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) this year. During this event, he scored an average of 3.4 ppg and had 1.6 rpg.
He has played also in Japan, Korea, and the Philippines (Bulldogs).
