Experienced Egyptian Assem Marei (206-C-1992) had a very impressive game in the last round for Changwon LG Sakers and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 33-year old center had a double-double of 28 points and 20 rebounds, while his team beat Seoul Thunders (#8, 2-3) 75-64. Sakers maintains the 3rd position in South Korean KBL. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. LG Sakers will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. Marei turned to be Sakers' top player in his first season with the team. Minnesota State University Mankato graduate has very impressive stats this year. Marei leads league in rebounds with 16.0rpg. Marei is in league's top in and averages solid 3.2spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Ethan Alvano (185-G-1996) of Wonju DB. Alvano impressed basketball fans with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course Wonju DB cruised to a 83-76 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Sono SG (#9, 2-5). Despite this victory Wonju DB slide down in the standings to 5th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Alvano is one of the most experienced players at Wonju DB and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.4ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 5.7rpg and 6.0apg. California State University San Marcos alumni Alvano played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was American Jameel Warney (203-C-1994) of Seoul SK Knights (#7). Warney got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for fifteen rebounds and four assists. Despite Warney's great performance the Knights lost 75-78 to Mobis Phoebus (3-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Seoul Knights ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 4 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Warney could help Seoul Knights to bring them higher in the standings. Warney has a great season in South Korea. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 27.1ppg (best scorer), rebounds with 13.9rpg (2nd best) and assists with 5.3apg (3rd best).
