Defending champion Changwon LG Sakers (KBL) strengthened their roster with the addition of experienced 37-year-old Nigerian ex-international center Micheal Eric (211cm-109kg-1988, college: Temple) for the 2025-26 season. He played most recently at Taipei Taishin Mars in the Taiwanese TPBL. In 30 games, he recorded 13.7ppg, 9.7rpg, and 1.1apg last season, helping them reach the semifinals. Last summer, he was tested by Al Ahly Tripoli (D1) in the Libyan league.
Eric has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016. He was a member of the Nigerian Senior National Team between 2019 and 2023.
Eric is a very experienced player. Thanks to Eric's pro career he managed to play on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and of course North America) in ten different countries. He has played professionally in Greece (AEK Betsson and Panelefsiniakos), Italy (Brindisi), Mexico (Halcones Rojos), Russia (PBC CSKA Moscow), Spain (Baskonia, Unicaja and Surne Bilbao), Turkey (Darussafaka Lassa and Turk Telekom), NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers and Milwaukee Bucks), South Korea (Sonicboom) and NBA G League (Texas Legends and Cleveland Charge).
Among many awards, he played in the final of the South Korean League in 2024. Eric was voted to the USBasket.com D-League All-Defensive Team back in 2016. It may be one of the last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at LG Sakers.
He graduated from Temple University in 2012 and it'll be his 14th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
