Experienced Egyptian Assem Marei (206-C-1992) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best Changwon LG Sakers and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 41.
The 32-year old center recorded a triple-double of 15 points adding also 14 rebounds and 12 assists, while his team beat Wonju DB (#6, 20-27) 81-68. Sakers maintains the 2nd position in South Korean KBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. LG Sakers will need more victories to improve their 29-17 record. In the team's last game Marei had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Sakers, through which he has constantly improved. Minnesota State University Mankato graduate has very impressive stats this year. Marei leads league in rebounds with 12.9rpg. Marei is in league's top in and averages solid 58.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another LG Sakers' star - young Filipino forward Carl Tamayo (200-F-2001). Tamayo impressed basketball fans with 32 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course together with Marei he helped Changwon LG Sakers with another comfortable win 81-68 over the lower-ranked Wonju DB (#6, 20-27) being unquestionably team leader. Sakers' second position in the standings has not changed. His team's 29-17 record is not bad at all. Tamayo is a newcomer at Sakers and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Alan Williams (203-C-1993) of Sono Skygunners (#10). Williams showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, 15 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Skygunners, leading his team to a 90-85 win against the higher-ranked KoGas (#5, 24-23). The chances of Sono SG not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 31 games, recording just fifteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Williams could try to bring Sono SG's a little bit higher in the standings. Williams has individually a great season in South Korea. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.2ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 11.8rpg (3rd best).
