Filipino Carl Tamayo (200-F-2001) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Changwon LG Sakers and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat KCC Egis (#4, 6-3) 81-72. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Sakers is placed at 2nd position in South Korean KBL. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. LG Sakers will need more victories to improve their 7-2 record. In the team's last game Tamayo had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. It's his second year at Sakers and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Tamayo has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 18.2ppg) and rebounds (9th best: 7.3rpg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Shawn Long (208-F-1993, agency: Pensack Sports) of Busan KCC Egis. Long impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Egis lost that game 72-81 to slightly higher-ranked LG Sakers (#2, 7-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. KCC Egis still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 6-3 record is not bad at all. Long is a newcomer at KCC Egis and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.8ppg (#4). He also registered 12.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Turkish Kerem Kanter (208-F/C-1995) of Seoul Samsung Thunders (#7). Kanter scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Samsung Thunders, leading his team to a 83-74 win against slightly lower-ranked Seoul Knights (#8, 3-6). The chances of Seoul Thunders ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 5 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Kanter could help Seoul Thunders to bring them higher in the standings. Kanter has a very solid season. In 9 games in South Korea he scored 14.0ppg. He also has 7.1rpg and a FGP of 55.7%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
