Experienced Egyptian Assem Marei (206-C-1992) had a great game in the last round for Changwon LG Sakers and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 44.
The 32-year old center had a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds, while his team crushed Seoul Thunders (#10, 15-34) with 23-point margin 92-69. Thanks to this victory Sakers moved-up to the 3rd position in South Korean KBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. LG Sakers will need more victories to improve their 31-19 record. Marei has many years of experience at Sakers, through which he has constantly improved. Minnesota State University Mankato graduate has very impressive stats this year. Marei leads league in rebounds with 12.9rpg. Marei is in league's top in assists (7th best: 4.6apg) and averages solid 57.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Canadian power forward Andrew Nicholson (206-PF-1989) of Korea Gas Corporation. Nicholson impressed basketball fans with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he led KoGas to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked KCC Egis (#8, 17-32) 96-67. KoGas' 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 25-25 record is not bad and everything may still change. Nicholson is well-known by KoGas fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.2ppg (#2). He also registered 8.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another LG Sakers' star - Sang Yugi. Yugi scored 27 points. Despite Yugi's great performance the Changwon LG Sakers lost 78-79 to #1 ranked Seoul Knights. But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Sakers needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 31 victories and 19 lost games. Yugi has a very solid season. In 27 games in South Korea he scored 11.9ppg.
