Filipino Forward Carl Tamayo (200-F-2001) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked Changwon LG Sakers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 15 rebounds, while his team outclassed Mobis Phoebus (#9, 6-12) with 30-point margin 90-60. It allowed Sakers to consolidate first place in the South Korean KBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. LG Sakers has a very solid 14-5 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Tamayo had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Sakers and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Carl Tamayo has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (9th best: 17.7ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was young American Shawn Long (208-F-1993, agency: Pensack Sports) of Busan KCC Egis. Long had a very good evening with a double-double of 15 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Egis lost that game 72-77 to slightly higher-ranked Anyang (#2, 12-6). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. KCC Egis still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 11-8 record is not bad at all. Long is a newcomer at KCC Egis, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Canadian forward Andrew Nicholson (206-PF-1989) of Seoul Samsung Thunders (#8). Nicholson scored 26 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. He was a key player of Samsung Thunders, leading his team to a 96-71 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Suwon KT (#6, 9-10). The chances of Seoul Thunders ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Nicholson could help Seoul Thunders to bring them higher in the standings. Nicholson has a great season in South Korea. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.9ppg (4th best). He also has a FGP of 55.2% and 3PT: 42.2%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
