Marei's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

33-year old Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-C-1992) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's best team Changwon LG Sakers and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
He had a double-double of 17 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Sono SG (#7, 2-3) 80-74. It allowed Sakers to take over top position in the South Korean league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. LG Sakers has a very solid 3-1 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Marei turned to be Sakers' top player in his first season with the team. Minnesota State University Mankato graduate has very impressive stats this year. Marei is in league's top in points (8th best: 17.0ppg) and averages solid 3.0spg and 52.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jameel Warney (203-C-1994) of Seoul SK Knights. He is American center in his 7th season at Seoul Knights. In the last game Warney recorded an impressive double-double of 21 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Knights lost that game 66-75 to Anyang (3-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Warney is one of the most experienced players at Seoul Knights and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.4ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 13.4rpg and 5.2apg.

Third place about best performers goes to center Isaiah Hicks (206-C-1994, agency: Slash Sports) of Suwon KT Sonicboom (#5). Hicks scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Sonicboom, leading his team to a 74-66 win against Seoul Thunders (#6, 2-2). Suwon KT needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Hicks has a very solid season. In 5 games in South Korea he scored 16.4ppg.

7. Ung Heo (183-G-1993) of KCC Egis - 24 points and 5 assists
8. SangJae Kang (202-F-1994) of Wonju DB - 14 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Carl Tamayo (200-F-2001) of LG Sakers - 22 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Kerem Kanter (208-F/C-1995) of Seoul Thunders - 18 points and 11 rebounds
