The biggest surprise of round 8 took place in Busan where guest Anyang (#1) beat lower ranked Suwon KT (#3) by 5 points 92-87 on Sunday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Anyang dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Sonicboom's 36. The best player for the winners was who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. American power forward Johnny OBryant III (207-1993, college: LSU, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 22 points. Anyang's coach Seung-Ki Kim used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Derrick Williams (203-1991, college: Arizona) produced 22 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Anyang have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-2 record, which they share with LG Sakers. Suwon KT at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with KCC Egis. Anyang will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Suwon KT will play on the road against Mobis Phoebus in Ulsan and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.

American power forward Darryl Monroe (202-1986, college: GMU) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for Seoul Knights. Seoul Thunders moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Mobis Phoebus. Seoul Knights at the other side dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Seoul Thunders will play against higher ranked KCC Egis (#4) in Busan in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Seoul Knights will play at home against Daegu (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Shawn Long responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sakers have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Anyang. Loser Egis dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Suwon KT. LG Sakers will meet Sono SG (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KCC Egis will play against Seoul Thunders (#7) and hope to secure a win.
In the last two games of round 8 Seoul Knights were defeated by Daegu in Incheon 83-81. Seoul Thunders beat Sono SG at home 85-83.
