Egyptian Center Assem Marei (206-C-1992) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Changwon LG Sakers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 33-year old player had a double-double of 28 points and 20 rebounds, while his team beat Mobis Phoebus (#6, 4-5) 87-75. Sakers is placed at 2nd position in South Korean KBL. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. LG Sakers will need more victories to improve their 7-2 record. In the team's last game Marei had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Sakers' top player in his first season with the team. Former Minnesota State University Mankato star has very solid stats this year. Marei is in league's top in points (8th best: 17.8ppg) and averages impressive 2.9spg and 51.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Nathan Knight (208-F/C-1997) of Sono Skygunners. Knight had a very good evening with a double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Skygunners lost that game 71-77 to the higher-ranked Suwon KT (#3, 6-3). Sono SG managed to keep the same 9th spot in the standings. 7 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Skygunners managed to get this year. Knight is a newcomer at Sono SG, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.3ppg (#3). He also registered 10.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Henry Ellenson (208-C-1997) of Wonju DB (#5). Ellenson got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds and nine assists. He was a key player of Wonju DB, leading his team to a 94-80 easy win against the lower-ranked Seoul Thunders (#8, 3-5). Wonju DB needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 4 lost games. Ellenson has a great season in South Korea. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.1ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 11.0rpg (4th best).
