Egyptian Center Assem Marei (206-C-1992) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Changwon LG Sakers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 33-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat Seoul Thunders (#7, 7-9) 95-83. It allowed Sakers to consolidate first place in the South Korean KBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. LG Sakers has a very solid 12-4 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Marei turned to be Sakers' top player in his first season with the team. Former Minnesota State University Mankato star has very solid stats this year. Marei leads league in rebounds with 14.5rpg. Marei is in league's top in assists (4th best: 4.7apg) and averages impressive 2.6spg and 53.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Jameel Warney (203-C-1994) of Seoul SK Knights. Warney had a very good evening with a double-double of 37 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Knights was edged by the higher-ranked Wonju DB (#3, 9-6) 87-84. Seoul Knights managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-8 record. Warney is one of the most experienced players at Seoul Knights and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.4ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 13.5rpg and 4.5apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Henry Ellenson (208-C-1997) of Wonju DB (#3). Ellenson got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for eleven rebounds . He was a key player of Wonju DB, leading his team to a 87-84 win against the lower-ranked Seoul Knights (#6, 7-8). Wonju DB needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 6 lost games. Ellenson has a great season in South Korea. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.9ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 10.7rpg (5th best). He also has 1.2bpg and a FGP of 53.9%.
