Townsend
Terrence Townsend (206-F/C-86, college: Los Angeles CC) played for the Drew League this past Summer, helping his team Hank's Blazers make it to the championship where they fell short losing by 4. The Blazers went on a 12 game winning streak during the regular season before losing their first game. Terrence Townsend averaged 9.4ppg and 10.2rpg in the Drew NBA-summer pro-am league. Over twenty players participating in the league featured guys with NBA, Euroleague, NBDL, CBA, ABA, NCAA and International experience. Townsend also participated in the Nike Real Run where he played for team Muscle Milk, another NBA-summer pro-am league where it featured NBA players as well, such as Ryan Hollins (Cleveland Cavaliers), J.R. Smith (Denver Nuggets) etc.
In his first game of the season for the Nike Real Run team Muscle Milk beat LA Unified 91:80. The game was a seesaw battle all night as the teams exchanged momentum swings throughout the game. Muscle Milk was down at half time but came storming back and was in the position to win the game but did not benefit from a couple of dubious officiating no calls. Muscle Milk had six players in double figures. Townsend came out with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Terrence Townsend really showed this summer why he will be a outstanding player in UAE for team An Nahl Sharjah by providing quality play, great decision making and great leadership skills. He will be a great addition to the An Nahl Sharjah team. These summer leagues that Townsend participated in were great exposure for his Pro career.

Will emirates play with 6 teams in season 2016-2017 ? Thats the biggest question on Emirates basketball scene right now. The 3 bottom teams of last season Al Jazeera, Banijas and Al Ain announced that they are not going to participate in 2016-2017 senior league while they will keep playing in youth leagues.
