After a week of additional discussion, it was determined a team from Dubai will play in the ABA League next season. According to Bojan Brezovac from Mozzart Sport, the Adriatic League welcomed the new club to start competing in the tournament starting from the 2024-25 season. With the addition of Dubai's team, 16 clubs will play in next year's ABA League compared to this year's 14. Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade were the only team opposed to Dubai's arrival, while Buducnost VOLI Podgorica's representatives did not attend the Assembly, Meridian Sport reports. Previously, the league had asked for a larger financial compensation from the UAE representatives. The demand was met this week. The deal with the Dubai organization will run until the end of the 2026-27 season. Dubai's organization will contribute at least €2,500,000 per season. Additionally, the league needed to resolve some inner structural issues, as three new clubs were applying for a shareholder status, Sportal writes. The failed addition to the ABA League was named as one of the main reasons why the team from Dubai was not welcomed into the EuroLeague family last week. This obstacle is now obsolete.
