Crvena Zvezda clinched the third position at the VTB League SuperCup. They edged Dubai in the consolation final on Thursday. Jordan Nwora (203-SF-1998, college: Louisville) posted 19 points, while Tyson Carter (193-SG-1998, college: MSU) and Chima Moneke (198-PF-1995, college: UC Davis) added 15 points apiece for the Serbian powerhouse.
Crvena Zvezda eked out a 22-19 lead ten minutes into the game. The teams traded baskets throughout the second stanza as Crvena Zvezda ensured a 44-41 halftime lead. Dubai erased the deficit in the third stanza. They surged ahead for a 61-59 advantage at the final break. But Crvena Zvezda dropped 23 points in the fourth frame and snatched a tough win at the end.
Kosta Kondic (193-G-2001) produced 15 points, while Awudu Abass (198-SF-1993) had 12 points for Dubai.
