Al-Ahli-Sports-Club-Doha (QBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 33-year old American forward Alex Young (198cm-96kg-1989, college: IUPUI). Young played last season at Al Sharjah in UAE ULB league. He helped them to win the cup and make to league final.
Young was voted to Israeli League All-Star Game back in 2015 and 2018.
The previous (2020-21) season he played at Al Ahly (Superleague) in Egyptian league. He contributed to his team making it to the cup final and to the league semifinals.
Young is quite experienced player. Thanks to Young's pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America) in six different countries. He has played previously professionally in China (Beijing), France (Chalons Reims), Israel (Gilboa Galil and Ironi Nahariya), Italy (Cd'Orlando and Basket Barcellona), Russia (Enisey) and The Basketball Tournament (Armored Athlete and Midwest Dream).
Young graduated from Indiana Univ-Purdue Univ-Indianapolis in 2012 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season as a professional player.
The scouts decsribe him following way: Very techincally skilled player, he knows how to move on the court and how to defend. Can score a lot, he's very athletic and has a solid body. Great upside, could become a star at European level.
