BC Dubai (Adriatic League) agreed on terms of contract wit 25-year old Serbian international 211cm power forward Filip Petrusev (college: Gonzaga) for upcoming season. He played most recently at Crvena zvezda in Serbian KLS league. He managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). The team played in three different competitions that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In two KLS games he averaged 12.0ppg, 6.0rpg, 1.5apg and 2.0spg. Petrusev helped them to make it to the semifinals. He also played 28 games in Euroleague where he recorded 14.1ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.7apg. It was a very successful season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com Euroleague Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week. And finally he contributed to 28 games in ABA League where he got 13.6ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.8apg. The other team he played shortly was Olympiacos S.F.P. Piraeus (GBL) in Greek league.
In 2021 (a year after he left the college) he was drafted by Philadelphia 76ers (NBA) in second round (50th overall). The former Gonzaga University star is in his sixth season in pro basketball.
Petrusev has been also a member of the Serbian international program for some years. He has regularly played for the Serbian senior team since 2021 and previously for the Under 19 National Team back in 2019.
Petrusev also represented Serbia at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) last year. His team won Bronze and he had almost 10 points per game.
He is a very experienced player. Petrusev has played also professionally in Greece, Spain, Turkey (Efes), NBA (Sacramento Kings) and NBA G League (Stockton). Petrusev's team won Greek Supercup in 2025. He was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Adriatic League Forward of the Year in 2025.
