Mfiondu Kabengele (ex Venezia) signs at Dubai

BC Dubai (Adriatic League) has signed 27-year-old Canadian international 207cm power forward Mfiondu Kabengele (college: FSU) for the upcoming season. Kabengele played for Umana Reyer Venezia in the Italian Serie A for the last two years. In 35 Serie A games last season, he averaged an impressive 15.2ppg, 9.9rpg, and 1.3apg. He also played 18 games in Eurocup, where he had remarkable stats: 15.4ppg, 9.7rpg, 1.5apg, and 1.1spg. Kabengele was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Eurocup Forward of the Year and selected to the All-Defensive Team and All-Imports Team. In the previous season (2023-24), he played for AEK Betsson Athens (GBL) in the Greek league.
In 2019, he was drafted by the Brooklyn Nets (NBA) in the first round (27th overall). He graduated from Florida State University, and it is his seventh season in pro basketball. Kabengele has been regularly called to the Canadian Senior National Team since 2024.
He is a very experienced player. Kabengele has played professionally in Greece, NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, LA Clippers, and Sacramento Kings), NBA G League (RGV Vipers, Maine Celtics, and San Diego Clippers), and NBA Summer League (Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, and Cleveland Cavaliers).
His team reached the Italian Serie A Semifinals in 2024.
