Defending champion Shabab Al Ahli Dubai (ULB) inked experienced 36-year old American 191cm guard Jermaine Love (college: UIS) for upcoming season. Love played most recently at Buyukcekmece in Turkish BSL league. In 31 games he recorded very impressive stats: 16.9ppg, 2.7rpg, 3.6apg and 1.4spg last season. Good year as he was voted League Player of the Week.
The previous (2023-24) season he played at Peristeri in Greek GBL where in 20 games he averaged 11.5ppg, 2.0rpg, 2.1apg and 1.2spg in that year. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Love also played 13 games in Basketball Champions League where he had 10.3ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.9apg in that year. The other team he played that season for was Chalon/Saor in French Betclic ELITE ProA. In 15 games he got 9.5ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.8apg in that year.
He is a very experienced player. Love has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to seven different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Israel (Hapoel Holon), Italy (Verona), Lithuania (Lietkabelis, Nevezis and Vilniaus), Poland (Trefl), Russia (BC Pari Nizhny Novgorod), Venezuela (Guaros) and Greece (PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki, Kolossos H Hotels Rodou and Holargos).
His team won Russian Cup in 2023.
He graduated from University of Illinois at Springfield in 2012 and it will be his 14th (!!!) season in pro basketball. Love played also for Prairie State College for one year.
