Al Wakrah (QBL) signed experienced 34-year old American guard Julius Coles Jr. (196cm-88kg-1989, college: Canisius). It is actually his comeback to Al Wakrah as he has played here before. Coles moved there from Al Bataeh in UAE ULB league. He also played for Ahly Benghazi (D1) in Libyan league. The other team he played shortly was Al Morog (D1) in Libyan league.
Coles is quite experienced player. He has played in seven different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America). Coles has played previously professionally in Bosnia (Siroki), Germany (Schwelm), Kosovo (Prishtina), Morocco (IRT Tanger), Tunisia (US Monastir), Qatar (Al Sadd and Al Ahli) and North Macedonia (Lirija).
He won Basketball Africa League championship title in 2022.
Coles graduated from Canisius College in 2012 and it is his eleventh (!!!) season as a professional player.
He could be described: A "classic" scoring point guard specimen from New York, has great personality on the court. Coles is shooting with a terrific percentages in his first pro season, and he is still learning the PG job; but due to his size and athleticism he is a major prospect for the next level.
