Al Wahda Abu Dhabi (ULB) landed experienced 36-year old American 203cm forward Antwaine Wiggins (college: Charleston) for new season. Wiggins joins another USA player Patrick Burnett who is already in the roster.
He played most recently at Al Shurtah in Iraqi Superleague. In 22 games he averaged 13.9ppg, 7.1rpg, 1.7apg and 1.4spg last season. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. It was a very successful season in his career as he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Iraqi League Third Team.
Part of previous (2023-24) season he spent at Al Naft in Iraq league where in 6 West Asia Super League games he had very impressive stats: 16.8ppg, 5.3rpg, 2.0apg and 2.2spg in that year. He also spent pre-season at Al Ittihad (SBL) in Syrian league.
In 2016 (four years after his graduation) he was drafted by Raptors 905 (D-League) in second round (43rd overall).
The former College of Charleston standout is in his 14th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Wiggins is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in six different countries playing on five different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American, African and of course North American leagues. Wiggins has played previously professionally in Argentina (Platense), Brazil (Palmeiras), Greece (PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki, Lavrio and Ifaistos), Qatar (Al Ahli Sports Club Doha), Libya (Ahly Benghazi) and NBA G League (Raptors 905 Mississauga). He played in the final of Southern Conference Tournament in 2009 and 2011. Wiggins was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Greek A1 Honorable Mention back in 2018 and 2020.
