Sharjah - ASS Sale 80:73

Sharjah made history tonight. They claimed their first ever Arab Club Championship title. Sharjah toppled ASS Sale for the crown in Abu Dhabi. Radhouane Slimane (205-C-80) stepped up with 31 points to pace the UAE team to the victory.
Sharjah fired 28 points in the starting frame to clear off. They posted a 6-point advantage after ten minutes. Sharjah continued to dominate in the second frame. They registered a 55:41 halftime buffer. ASS Sale stopped the rot in the third term. The Moroccan team stiffened their defence and cut the distance to 5 points with one quarter remaining. ASS Sale got within three points in the final term but Sharjah survived the challenge and sealed the winning outcome at the end. Rashed Alzaabi (190-F-88) provided 22 points in the win. Cory Bradford (191-G-78, agency: Edge Sports, college: Illinois) finished with 13 points for the champions. Abdelhakim Zouita (201-F-86) answered with 20 points for ASS Sale. Abderrahim Najah (198-F/C-84) finished with 12 points in the loss.

Al Shaab Sharjah (D1) added to their roster experienced 36-year old Croatian center Bruno Sundov (221-119kg-80). He played last season at Al Ahli in Bahrain Premier League. Sundov managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year. He also played that season for Petrochimi (Superleague) in Iran. In 1998 Sundov was drafted by Dallas Mavericks (NBA) in second round (35th overall). He reached the finalist of Bahrain last season. Al Naser Dubai (D1) signed 27-year old American power forward Greg Mangano (208-109kg-89, college: Yale). He played last season at Kangoeroes in Belgian Euromillions League. In 30 games he had 14.7ppg and 7.0rpg. The previous (14-15) season Mangano played at Kauhajoen Karhu in Finnish Korisliiga where in 47 games he recorded very impressive stats: 16.8ppg, 10.2rpg, 1.3apg and 1.5bpg. Christian Burns (ex Al Wasl) joins Brescia - 1 month ago

Germani Basket Brescia (Serie A) agreed terms with 31-year old American forward Christian Burns (203-108kg-85, college: Philadelphia). He played last season at Al Wasl in UAE D1 league. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. The previous (14-15) season Burns played at CEZ Nymburk in Czech Republic NBL.
