Sharjah - ASS Sale 80:73

Sharjah made history tonight. They claimed their first ever Arab Club Championship title. Sharjah toppled ASS Sale for the crown in Abu Dhabi. Radhouane Slimane (205-C-80) stepped up with 31 points to pace the UAE team to the victory.
Sharjah fired 28 points in the starting frame to clear off. They posted a 6-point advantage after ten minutes. Sharjah continued to dominate in the second frame. They registered a 55:41 halftime buffer. ASS Sale stopped the rot in the third term. The Moroccan team stiffened their defence and cut the distance to 5 points with one quarter remaining. ASS Sale got within three points in the final term but Sharjah survived the challenge and sealed the winning outcome at the end. Rashed Alzaabi (190-F-88) provided 22 points in the win. Cory Bradford (191-G-78, agency: Edge Sports, college: Illinois) finished with 13 points for the champions. Abdelhakim Zouita (201-F-86) answered with 20 points for ASS Sale. Abderrahim Najah (198-F/C-84) finished with 12 points in the loss.

Will emirates play with 6 teams in season 2016-2017 ? Thats the biggest question on Emirates basketball scene right now. The 3 bottom teams of last season Al Jazeera, Banijas and Al Ain announced that they are not going to participate in 2016-2017 senior league while they will keep playing in youth leagues. Talk N Text Tropang Texters (PBA) inked 33-year old American forward Jason Maxiell (201-118kg-83, college: Cincinnati). He played most recently at Al Ahli in UAE D1 league. He helped them to win the cup and make to league final. Maxiell also played at TianJin Steel (CBA) in Chinese league that season.
