Taiwan was too strong for Uzbekistan today in Tianjin ending the Preliminary Round as No.2 in Group B (2-1). Taiwan will together with Iran, Kuwait, South Korea, Philippines and Japan create a new group E. Uzbekistan failed to advance (0-3) and it will fight for 13th place on this event. In just few minutes they created 3-12 lead. Later they finished first quarter with plus 13, 10-23. At the middle of second quarter Tsung-Hsien Chang and his teammates jumped to 12-37 and it was clear that Uzbekistan will not have a chance today. Third period finished 18-27 for Taiwan, after what they slowed down letting Uzbekistan to came a bit closer. On Monday, Taiwan will meet Philippines. Uzbekistan will take on Sri Lanka.

Iran was way better team today, except of the last quarter when question about the winner was already resolved. After 11-11, Iran completed 12-6 run to close the first period. Mahdi Kamrani continued strongly, but Uzbekistan also improved so the could not go to half time with more than plus 7, 40-33. However, beginning of third quarter was crucial. After few leveled minutes, Iran made 13-2 run taking 55-39 lead. Uzbekistan had no chance later as Iran jumped to plus 27 few times. Tomorrow in Tianjin, Iran will meet Kuwait. Uzbekistan will take on Taiwan.
