South Korea opened win count in Asian Games in Guangzhou. They coasted past Uzbekistan for the initial win in Group E. Lee Seung-Jun came up with 20 points and 8 rebounds to pace balanced effort from the Koreans. South Korea did not waste too much time and surged ahead straight away. They accumulated a 25:11 lead ten minutes into the encounter. South Korea maintained the margin well enough throughout the next period. Uzbekistan faced a massive 22-point deficit at halftime. Things got just worse for Uzbeks in the third term. The Korean side quickly boosted the margin to 30+ margin and entered the final stanza ahead by 34 points 74:40. South Korea did not slow down in the fourth term and rallied to an impressive first-day rout. Ham Ji-Hoon (198-C/F-84) netted 15 points for the Korean team. Yang Hee-Jong (194-F-84) added 13 points in the victory. Samender Juginisov (202-F-87) responded with 27 points and 9 rebounds for Uzbekistan. Evgeniy Shatrov (192-G-86) accounted for 8 points in the loss.
