Position No.13 on AsiaBasket 2009 in Tianjin belongs to India. After victory against Indonesia, Uzbekistan managed to beat Uzbekistan today with nice 89-73. Naturally, Uzbekistan is the 14th ranked team on this event. Vineeth Revi (202-C-84) paced India to victory collecting 24 points and 11 rebounds. Talwinderjit Singh (182-G/F-86) had 20 and Vishesh Bhriguvanshi (192-G-91) posted 16 pts. Aleksandr Kozlov (202-F-82) and Kirill Gusev (-90) responded with 17 pts each in loss. Vyacheslav Denisov (190-F-83) stopped on 10 pts.
India was better team during the entire game. Vineeth Revi and his teammates opened this match with 5-11 run and later set the score to 17-24 after 10 minutes. Uzbekistan came to minus 3 at the middle of the second frame, but that was all from them today. India immediately answered taking back double-digit lead, 37-47. India had not troubles to keep its advantage for the rest of the way. Actually, in the last ten minutes they extended it even more finishing the contest with nice 16-point win. Vineeth Revi made the last points in this game from the free throw line.

Uzbekistan finishes 4th at the International tournament in Kyrgyzstan. Kazakhstan edged Uzbekistan 87-43. Victor Verzun stepped up with 19 points and Daniar Tayekelov posted 18. Danil Miturev replied with 14 points and 17 rebounds in a loss. Uzbekistan lost also to Kyrgyzstan 42-47 and to SHOR 39-81. Uzbekistan however beat Spartak 70-56 and Yeti 55-48.   [read more]

TEMP SUMZ Revda keeps Karaulov for another season - 2 Years ago
TEMP-SUMZ-UGMK Revda (Superleague 1) re-signed experienced 35-year old naturalized Uzbekistani center Sergey Karaulov (214-115kg-82). He has played there for the last two seasons. In 27 Superleague 1 games he recorded 10.1ppg and 7.8rpg (#3 in the league) last season. Karaulov helped them to make it to the Russian Cup Semifinals. TEMP-SUMZ Revda (Superleague) agreed terms with 33-year old naturalized Uzbekistani center Sergey Karaulov (212-115kg-82). He played last season at Ural Ekaterinburg (Superleague). In 41 games he had 9.6ppg and 7.9rpg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. The previous (13-14) season Karaulov played at Ruskon-Mordovia (Higher League).
