Panathinaikos in talks with Omer Yurtseven

Panathinaikos Aktor Athens (GBL) is close to signing 26-year-old Turkish-Uzbekistani international center Omer Yurtseven (213cm-120kg-1998, college: Georgetown) for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Yurtseven last played for the Utah Jazz in the NBA, where he averaged 4.6ppg and 4.3rpg in 48 games last season. During the 2022-23 season, he played for another NBA team, the Heat, and also for the Skyforce in the NBA G League. In 17 games with the Heat, he averaged 2.6ppg and 1.6rpg. Yurtseven helped the Heat reach the semifinals that season.
Yurtseven has also been a member of the Turkish international program for some years. He has regularly played for the Turkish senior team since 2021 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2017.
Yurtseven also represented Turkey at the FIBA World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers last year. He was the best scorer at the event with 17 ppg, while adding 11.4 rpg.
Yurtseven has played professionally in Turkey and the NBA G League (OKC Blue) before.
He was voted to All-Big East Honorable Mention in 2020.
Yurtseven graduated from Georgetown University in 2020 and it will be his fifth season as a professional player. He played also for North Carolina State University for 2 years.
