Taiwan - Uzbekistan 86:70

Taiwan will play for the fifth overall position at Fiba Asia Cup in Japan. They held off Uzbekistan in the classification round tonight. Chen Shih-Chieh (176-G-84) posted 13 points to lead the winners.
Taiwan erupted for 30 points in the opening quarter to clear off. They posted a 12-point lead at the first break. Taiwan kept Uzbekistan at bay throughout the second quarter. They recorded a 47:33 halftime advantage. Uzbekistan slowed their opponents a bit in the third stanza. Oleg Levin team got within 13 points at the final intermission. But it was too small a success to hope for a positive outcome. Taiwan regained control in the fourth quarter and rallied to the win at the end. Lee Hsueh-Lin (176-PG-84) chipped in 12 points, while Tseng Wen-Ting (203-F/C-84), Tien Lei (202-F-83) and Creighton Douglas (196-F-85) had 10 points each in the victory. Aleksandr Kozlov (201-F-82) answered with 21 points for Uzbekistan. Vyacheslav Denisov (195-G-83) netted 11 points in the loss.
