Sviridov advanced to the Big Final abroad

Dmitry Sviridov (212-C-85) and his Vitalyur advanced to the Finals of Belarus. Minsk-2006 and Vitalyur swept the semifinal clashes on May 7th. Both of them reached the Finals after the third straight victories over the opponents.
Vitalyur beat Grodno-93 78:71 in Game 3. It was a really tough game and especially first half brought much interest in the game . Grodno-93 and Vitalyur finished the opening quarter at 25:25 and then the hosts grabbed three-point lead 17-14 in the second period. Moreover a 15-12 in the third stanza gave them 6 points advantage that they however could not keep for good. Vitalyur produced massive 27-14 last period and advanced to the Final series. Dmitry Sviridov was unstoppable for the winners with 25 points and Yafremau Kanstantsin scored 15. Shustau Maksim poured in 11 points, while Pacevich Aliaksei added 9. Chunda finished the night with 16 points in the losing effort.
Before that Dmitry Sviridov's Vitalyur overcame BNTU 91:74 to advance to the Semifinals. The favorites won three quarters out of four and especially gave more troubles for BNTU in the third period with 32-19. Kanstantsin Yafremau top-scored for the winners with 19 points, while Aliaksei Pacevich netted 16. Golovskiy ended up with 20 points in defeat.
