Taiwan registered the first win at the Asian Championship in Wuhan. They fired past Uzbekistan for 1-1 record in Group B. Tsung-Hsien Chang (192-G-88) stepped up with 15 points to lead the effort.
Taiwan opened the game with nine straight points. They stretched the gap to 10 points 12:2 shortly after. Taiwan secured a 24:14 lead after ten minutes of action. Taiwan kept their opponents at bay throughout the second frame. They established a 45:36 halftime advantage. Uzbekistan cut the deficit to just 6 points midway through the third term 45:51. However Taiwan immedialy answered with a 6:0 surge to restore a safe cushion. They entered the fourth quarter up by 17 points 67:50. Taiwan stayed well in charge throughout the fourth frame and cruised to the victory at the end. Mao Chia-En (196-F/G-82) finished with 13 points, while Lu Cheng-Ju (194-F-86) and Chen Hsin-An (198-F/G-80) accounted for 11 points each in the win. Gennadiy Zinovyev (198-F-84) responded with 17 points for Uzbekistan. Vyacheslav Belokurov (202-F-77) provided 12 points in the loss.
