Champville managed to eke out a tough victory over pesky Duhok at the start of WABA League campaign in Group B. The Lebanese team escaped with a 7-point win behind 30 points and 9 rebounds from Samuel Hoskin (206-F/C-79, agency: Higher Vision Sports, college: De Paul).
Both teams entered the game aggressively. They exchanged baskets as Champville snatched a 25:22 lead after ten minutes. Fadi Khatib (199-F-79, agency: Pro Management Agency) went on court in the second term helping Champville clear off to a 14-point halftime lead 50:36. But Duhok struck back in the third quarter. The Iraqi team narrowed the gap and eventually tied things up at 71. Champville however regained control in the final term. They spurred back in front and hung on to win the battle. Garnett Thompson (207-F/C-80, college: Providence) finished with 25 points, 13 boards and 4 assists for Champville. Fadi Khatib had 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Malcolm Battles (205-F/C-79, college: N.Mexico) answered with 22 points and 16 boards. Chamberlain Oguchi (198-G-86, college: Illinois St.) had 21 points and 8 rebounds in the loss.

Iran roll over Iraq at the West Asian U-18 Championship - 10 days ago
Iran rolled over Iraq 109-50 at the West Asian U-18 Championship in Jordan. Iran exploded with a 29-10 surge and led 40-27 at the halftime. Moreover they nailed 32 and 37 points respectively in the third and the last quarters for the final success. Arabzadeh stepped up with 24 points and Dalirzahan notched 23. Superleague Round 18: Top-ranked Al Nift wins another game - 28 days ago
Superleague top team - Al Nift (13-2) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Al-Khtot Al-Jawiya (1-14) in Baghdad 107-80. Al Nift have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-2 record. Newly promoted Al-Khtot Al-Jawiya keeps the ninth place with 14 games lost.
