Hunter's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

26-year old American guard Kaleb Hunter (193-G-1998) had an amazing evening in the last round for Ghaz Al-Shamal and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 21.
He had a double-double of 39 points and 11 rebounds, while his team outclassed Tijarah (#10, 3-14) with 34-point margin 119-85. Ghaz Al-Shamal maintains the 8th position in Iraqi league. Ghaz Al-Shamal is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-7 record. In the team's last game Hunter had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Ghaz Al-Shamal's top player in his first season with the team. University of North Carolina at Greensboro graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hunter is in league's top in points (5th best: 25.1ppg) and averages solid 61.9% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Brian Bridgeforth (208-C-1994, agency: Gulf Coast Hoops) of Al Kahraba Electricity. He is American center in his first season at Al Kahraba. In the last game Bridgeforth recorded an impressive double-double of 29 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Al Kahraba lost that game 76-82 to the higher-ranked Al Shurtah (#3, 12-6). Al Kahraba is still second from the bottom in the standings. 13 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Al Kahraba managed to get this year. Bridgeforth is a newcomer at Al Kahraba and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Marcus Burwell (190-G-1997) of Zakho (#5). Burwell got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He was a key player of Zakho, leading his team to a 88-86 win against the higher-ranked Dijlah (#2, 14-4). Zakho needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 7 lost games. Burwell has a great season in Iraq. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 26.4ppg (3rd best).
