Zastal in talks with A.J. English, ex Al-Hashd

A.J. English

Enea Zastal BC Zielona Gora (OBL) is close to adding 31-year-old American guard A.J. English (192cm-86kg-1992, college: Iona) to their roster. English is currently playing at Al-Hashd Social Sports Club in Iraq. Last summer, he played at San Lazaro (TBS) in the Dominican Republic league.
He attempted to reach the NBA and participated in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
He's a highly experienced player, having played in eight different countries across four continents. He's had professional stints in the Dominican Republic, France (Limoges CSP Elite), Germany (MBC and Skyliners), Greece (Lavrio), Iraq (Al Shurtah and Dijlah), Italy, Poland (Legia and HydroTruck), as well as participating in The Basketball Tournament with Gael Nation and Program for Autism.
He played in the final of the Iraqi League in 2023, earning him one of many awards. Additionally, he was named to the MAAC All-Tournament Team in 2015.
He graduated from Iona College in 2016 and this is his 8th season as a pro player.
