SPB 2025 - Brillantes sign a second USA player, ex Al Shurtah

Demario Mayfield

Brillantes de Zulia (SPB) inked 33-year old American (has also Iraqi passport) 196cm guard Demario Mayfield (college: Angelo State) for upcoming season. Mayfield joins another USA player Myke Henry who is already in the roster.
He played recently at Al Shurtah in Iraqi Superleague. In 6 games he averaged 14.7ppg, 9.5rpg, 7.5apg and 1.0spg last season. The last season he played at Benacquista Assicurazioni Latina Basket in Italian Serie A2 where in 27 games he had 13.5ppg, 4.7rpg and 4.8apg. Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week. He also played for Agribertocchi Orzinuovi in Italian Serie A2. In 9 games he recorded 13.7ppg, 4.2rpg and 2.7apg. Good season as he was also here selected League Player of the Week. The other team he played shortly was Heroes Den Bosch in Dutch league. In two Basketball Champions League games he got 8.0ppg, 7.5rpg, 5.5apg and 1.0spg. He also played 1 game in BNXT League where he got 12 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Mayfield has been regularly called to Iraqi Senior National Team since 2017.
He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Mayfield has played previously professionally in Kosovo (Sigal Prishtina), Saudi Arabia (Ohod) and Italy (Ferrara and Torino). He won Iraqi League championship title in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Mayfield was voted to Asia-Basket.com Iraqi League All-Imports Team back in 2016 and 2017.
He graduated from Angelo State in 2015 and it is his tenth season in pro basketball. Mayfield played for other colleges like: The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, University of Georgia.
