Al Karkh (Superleague) added to their roster 27-year old American guard Ryle Owens (192cm-79kg-1997, college: Young Harris). Owens played last season at Al Sadd in Qatari QBL league. In 15 games he recorded very impressive stats: 18.4ppg, 7.3rpg, 4.8apg and 1.6spg. He helped them to make it to the cup final. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 Honorable Mention.

Owens is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in four different countries. He tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia and of course North America. Owens has played previously professionally in Bahrain (Al-Ittihad), Bulgaria (CSKA Sofia), Cyprus (APOEL Nicosia) and Georgia (Tbilisi State University).
He played in the final of NJCAA D1 District X in 2018.
