Crosby's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

28-year old American guard John Crosby (190-G-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Al Hilla and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
He had a double-double of 34 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Ghaz Al-Shamal (#8, 5-6) 89-86. Al Hilla is placed at 6th position in Iraqi league. Al Hilla is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-10 record. In the team's last game Crosby had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Al Hilla's top player in his first season with the team. Delaware State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Crosby is in league's top in points (5th best: 22.4ppg).

Second best performed player last round was Ricardo Artis II (198-F/G-1993) of Ghaz Al-Shamal. He is American swingman in his first season at Ghaz Al-Shamal. In the last game Artis II recorded an impressive double-double of 27 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Ghaz Al-Shamal was edged by slightly higher-ranked Al Hilla (#6, 8-10) 89-86. Ghaz Al-Shamal is still in a red zone at 8th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-6 record. Artis II is a newcomer at Ghaz Al-Shamal and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.1ppg (#6). He also registered 12.3 boards per game. Former Wiley College star Artis II is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Gerard Tarin (206-F-1996) of league's second-best Dijlah University. Tarin showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Dijlah, leading his team to a 80-70 win against the lower-ranked Al Kahraba (#9, 3-10). Dijlah is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 13-3 record is not that bad... Tarin has a very solid season. In 13 games in Iraq he scored 16.5ppg. He also has 7.2rpg and a FGP of 56.9%. Tarin attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
