Best players of Iraqi Superleague round 17

American Kaleb Hunter (193-G-1998) put on an amazing game in the last round for Ghaz Al-Shamal and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 26-year old guard had the game-high 36 points adding eight rebounds and four assists for Ghaz Al-Shamal in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Al-Hashd (#4, 9-7) 95-91. Ghaz Al-Shamal maintains the 8th position in Iraqi Superleague. Ghaz Al-Shamal is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-5 record. In the team's last game Hunter had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Ghaz Al-Shamal's top player in his first season with the team. Kaleb Hunter averages this season 24.6ppg and 6.0rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Isaac Banks (201-F-1994) of Zakho. Banks impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Zakho to another comfortable win outscoring slightly higher-ranked Al Karkh (#5, 8-8) 101-72. Despite this victory Zakho slide down in the standings to 7th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 6-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Banks is a newcomer at Zakho and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was international forward Ihab Al-Zuhairi (210-F/C-1998) of top-ranked Al-Difaa Aljawie. Al-Zuhairi scored 25 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Al-Difaa, leading his team to a 98-90 win against the lower-ranked Ghaz Al-Shamal (#8, 5-5). Al-Difaa confirms their top position in the standings. Al-Zuhairi has a great season in Iraq. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.0ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 15.3rpg (#1 in league).
