Lebanon finished their Pan Arab Games on a high note. Ghassan Sarkis team overcame Iraq to claim the seventh overall position. Fadi El Khatib posted 30 points and 10 rebounds to lead the winners.
The teams exchanged baskets throughout the opening quarter. The lead changed hands for several times before Iraq did not post a 20:18 advantage. Lebanon pulled ahead in the second quarter. They took a 41:36 halftime lead. The margin grew at double-digits in the third quarter. Lebanon entered the final frame up by 10 points 67:57. Lebanon triggered a 10:4 run early in the second quarter and sealed the deal. Elie ES\stephane posted 13 points, while Nadim Hawe (203-C/F-83) finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds for Lebona. Mohammed Mahdi (203-F/C-91) answered with 19 points and 11 boards. Quaiba Al-Doore had 15 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

The most exciting game of round 17 in the Superleague took place in Al Karkh. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th placed Al Karkh (10-4) to first ranked Al Nift (12-2) 94-91 on Monday evening. Torrington Cox (ex Pirates) joins Nift Al-Janoub - 4 days ago
Nift Al-Janoub (Superleague) agreed terms with 33-year old Bahamas international forward Torrington Cox (201-95kg-85, college: King). He played recently at Pirates in Bahamas NPBA. In 2008 (a year after he left the college) Cox was drafted by Utah Flash (D-League) in seventh round (105th overall). The former King University (NCAA Div.II) standoutis in his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball. Mahmoud Abdeen is a newcomer at Al Kahraba - 4 days ago
Al Kahraba Electricity (Superleague) strengthened their roster with addition of 31-year old Jordanian international point guard Mahmoud Abdeen (191-88kg-87). He played recently at SM Beermen in Filipino PBA league, but left. In three games he recorded 3.7ppg, 1.7rpg and 2.3apg in 2016 season. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Abdeen won Jordanian League championship title in 2014.
