Al Kahraba Electricity club completed their 20th Arab Clubs Championship's players list yesterday by signing with 3 imports for the big arabic event in Beirut from 25th of April until the 6th of May, The players are: Curtis Slaughter (201-G-80, agency: Promotex, college: Cal.St. Northridge), Rashad Powell (198-G-81, college: Idaho) and Nakiea Miller (204-C-79, agency: HM Sports Agency, college: Iona) All of them are from the United States of America [read more]
Slaughter will have his 1st experience abroad, While Powell who will join Satria Muda Britama Jakarta from Indonesia for the 20th Asian Clubs Championship after the arabic tournament has a good career esspecially in Saudi Arabia and UAE, The same thing is to the center Nakiea Miller who had the chance to passby Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Mexico.

Al Karkh advances to the Quarterfinals of 12th WABA Champions Cup. In Day 3 Saba Mehr beat Al Karkh 98:56 opening the game with 26-14 record. The team from Iran never looked behind and had 49:26 after the first half. Jackson Vroman paced all the winners with 18 points and Karam Ahmadian had 16. Abdulla Kutaiba (197-F/G-80) led the team from Iraq with 22 points and Ali Falih posted 14.

The team from Iraq started with 30-24 but then consolidated the lead in the second quarter. The squads went to the lockers with 55:38 for Al Karkh. The margin became plus 20 at the end of the third period at 76:56 and then was added by another one at the end. Adam Zahn (203-F/C-84, college: Oregon) and Justin Johnson (183-G-83, college: Mississippi) paced all the winners with 23 points each, while Abdulla Kutaiba posted 18. Chad Hendrick shined with 34 points in the losing effort. In the Quarterfinals of WABA Al Karkh will face the best team from Group A, Mahram. The latter overcame Orthodox 83:64 to win Group A and to remain the only undefeated team in WABA. In the last day of the group the team from Iran opened the game with 21-12 that followed 47:31 at the halftime. Orthodox tried hard but could not reach the favorites. Priest Lauderdale (221-C-73, college: Central State) led the winners to 3-0 record with 24 points. Samad Bahrami nailed 20 and Oscar Yebra posted 14. Ayman Idais brought Orthodox 16 points and James Williams produced 13.

The latter played really well in the opening quarter but failed later in the game. Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut pushed the tempo in the second quarter after 26:24 and improved to 56:30 at the halftime. The team from Lebanon had 8:45 after the third period and won the second game of the tournament reaching three digits number. Fadi El Khatib (197-F-79, agency: Pro Management Agency) exploded with 42 points to lead his team to 2-0 record in Group B. Ahmad Ismail (201-F-76) produced 20 and Roderick Riley added 18. Abdulla Kutaiba from Al Karkh ended up with 17 points.
