Uzbekistan earned a crucial win over Turkmenistan to advance into the Fiba Asia Championship in Wuhan, China. These were the only two teams participating in Stan division qualifying tournament. Aleksandr Kozlov (202-F-82) scored 23 points and Uzbekistan sealed the winning outcome in Navoi. The hosts led by as many as 9 points at the first break 22:13. Uzbekistan maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. They arrived at halftime up by 13 points 44:31. Uzbekistan held their opponents to just 11 points in the third term to boost the lead. They never looked back en route to the victory afterwards. Aleksandr Yahin (206-C-89) provided 14 points, while Hurmatjon Nuraliev (201-F-81) and Samender Juginisov (202-F-87) accounted for 10 points each in the win. Aleksandr Pashkov (191-G-85) responded with 14 points for Turkmenistan. Maksim Otbozin (211-C-80) netted 12 points in defeat.

However Mongolia speeded up in the third quarter. They outscored Turkmenistan 24:19 in the term establishing a 5-point advantage. The teams traded baskets in the final quarter with neither side able to dominate. Mongolia proved calmer in the dying seconds and snatched a tough win at the end. Sedbazar Shinen (191-F-81) scored 22 points and grabbed 9 rebounds to lead Mongolia. Ikhbayar Ganbaatar (180-G-83) added 15 points, 6 assists and 4 boards in the win. Aleksandr Pashkov (191-G-85) replied with 25 points for Turkmenistan. Toyli Bayriyev (188-G-84) finished with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the loss.
