Binagyar - Gyrat 71-66 Gurlushikchi - Dragon Oil 69-62 Gurlushikchi overcame Dragon Oil in the opener. Gurlushikchi outrebounded Dragon Oil 63-41 including a 49-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international guard Aleksandr Pashkov (193-85) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and forward Sapaly Zayrov (190-90) chipped in 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four Gurlushikchi players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international power forward Pavel Averyanov (203-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds and guard Eziz Mavyev (182-92) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-65. CSKA dominated on the defensive end, holding Balkan to just 7 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Balkan's 30. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Merdan Hojamedov (200-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds. Guard Timur Allanurov (188-89) contributed with 6 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. CSKA's coach Murat Muratdurdiev used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Muhammed Arazmammedov (180) answered with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Gennadiy Morozov (201) added 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Balkan.
