Kosuke Kanamaru (193-F/G-89) erupted for 28 points and 8 rebounds to pace the winners. Japan led by a single point 19:18 after the opening quarter. But they stretched the gap in the second frame. Japan arrived at the interval up by 7 points 41:34. Japan continued to mount the pressure in the third period. Hong Kong lagged behind to face a 10-point deficit into the fourth quarter. Japan kept Hong Kong at bay throughout the final stanza and sealed the winning outcome. Kosuke Takeuchi (206-C/F-85) netted 22 points and grabbed 15 boards for Japan. Yuya Nagayoshi (199-C-91) added 9 points for the winners. Lo Yi Ting (177-PG-87) answered with game-high 31 points for Hong Kong. Liang Man Hung (173-G-86) chipped in 11 points in the loss.

South Korea joined China in the East Asian Championship Final. The hosts drubbed Hong Kong in the semis today. Six South Korean players scored in double digits to pace the hosts to the victory. Kim Jong-Kyu (207-C-91) netted 20 points to lead the effort.

South Korea stayed in front throughout the second quarter. They boosted the lead to as many as 32 points at halftime 56:24. South Korea and Hong Kong slowed down a bit in the third term. The teams traded baskets as the Korean side remained in a comfortable lead. The hosts poured in 27 points in the fourth period and sealed the winning outcome at the end. Park Jae-Hyun (187-G-91) produced 15 points, while Kim Min-Goo added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Liang Man Hung (173-G-86) responded with 15 points for Hong Kong. Hong Kong managed to open win count at the East Asia Championship in Incheon tonight. They narrowly defeated Mongolia to improve at 1-1 record in Group B. Lo Yi Ting (177-PG-87) was instrumental in the victory scoring 25 points for Hong Kong. Mongolia fell at 0-1 record after the defeat.

Hong Kong stepped on the gas in the third quarter. They fired 24 points and piled up a 7-point buffer heading into the final frame. Mongolia tried hard to change the situation and cut the deficit but Hong Kong hung on to eke out victory at the end. Lee Ki (177-PG-87) netted 18 points, while Cheng Kam Hing (189-F-85) had 17 points for the winners. Sanchir Tungalag (188-G-89) responded with game-high 39 points for Mongolia. Zoljargal Namjildorj (194-F-87) had 10 points in the loss.
