Andrew Nicholson (ex KoGas) agreed terms with Bay Area Dragons- July 27, 2022
The previous (2020-21) season he played at Sturgeons in Chinese CBA where in 35 games he recorded very remarkable stats: 21.8ppg and 6.2rpg in that year. Good season as he was also here selected League Player of the Week. In 2012 he was drafted by Orlando Magic (NBA) in first round (19th overall). The former St. Bonaventure University star is in his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball. Nicholson also represented Canada at the FIBA Americas in Mexico seven years ago. Nicholson's team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 10 games: 7.4ppg, 3.8rpg, 1.2apg, FGP: 60.6%, 3PT: 47.6%, FT: 57.1%. He has played previously professionally in NBA (Portland Trail Blazers, Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards) and China (Guandong Tigers and Long Lions). Among many awards his team made it to the CBA Semifinals in 2018. Nicholson was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese CBA Honorable Mention back in 2018. Nicholson's game is described as: (by Borko Popic for NBADraft.net in 2012) A versatile power forward with a high basketball IQ. While he only has decent size for his position, his tremendous length allows him to play much bigger. Gets bodied and coerced into off balance shots. Good, but not a great athlete. His motor is a bit of a question mark, he has a tendency to take plays off on both ends of the floor and especially down the stretch of games.
