John Florveus (ex Cherno More) signs at Chun Yu

John Florveus

Chun Yu Basketball Club (D1) signed 35-year-old American center John Florveus for the upcoming season. He played for Cherno More in the Bulgarian NBL league, averaging 11.2ppg and 6.7rpg in 34 games last season. He also helped his team win the cup and reach the league final. Florveus, who also holds a Haitian passport, played college basketball at Georgia and is represented by the agency BIG.
Florveus, a very experienced player, has traveled extensively during his pro career, playing in fourteen different countries on four continents. He has played for teams in Bulgaria (Levski and Rilski), France (Lourdes Tarbes), Georgia (RASHI Tbilisi), Germany (s Oliver Baskets and Wuerzburg), Greece (Koroivos), Japan (Tokyo Cinq Reves), Kosovo (Bashkimi), Portugal (Ovarense), Romania (BC Timba Timisoara), Slovakia (Spisski Rytieri), Slovenia (Helios Suns), Spain (Prat), Bolivia (Amistad and Rubair), and The Basketball Tournament (Sideline Cancer and War Ready).
He won the Bulgarian League championship title in 2024. He was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Slovakian League Honorable Mention in 2019.
He graduated from the University of Georgia in 2013 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) season in pro basketball.
