Bassett is back at HK Eastern, ex Guaiqueries

O'Darien Bassett

Hong-Kong-Eastern-Long-Lions (D1) agreed terms with experienced 36-year old American guard O'Darien Bassett (189cm-1986, college: Troy) for upcoming 2022-23 season. Bassett is the second import player in the roster as Canadian Chris McLaughlin signed here earlier.
It is actually his comeback to Hong Kong as he has played here before. He played last summer at Guaiqueries in Venezuelan SPB league. In 11 games he had 7.2ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.1apg. Bassett helped them to make it to the semifinals. He also played for Halcones UV Xalapa in Mexican LNBP where in four games he recorded 13.5ppg, 4.5rpg and 4.0apg.
Bassett is quite experienced player. He has played in nine different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). Bassett has played previously professionally in Argentina (Salta Basket), France (JL Bourg, JSA Bordeaux, SPO Rouen and Stade Clermont), Germany, Korea (Goyang and Seoul Knights), Romania, Dominican Republic (Marineros and Parque Hostos), United Arab Emirates (Al Naser, Al Sharjah and Al Bataeh) and Hong Kong (HK Eastern).
He was voted to Korean KBL All-Star Game back in 2017.
It's very possible he may end his playing career at HK Eastern.
Bassett graduated from Troy University in 2008 and it will be his 15th (!!!) season as a professional player.
