The most exciting game of round 24 in the B1 League took place in Tokyo. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th ranked Tochigi Brex (15-9) to third ranked Alvark Tokyo (17-7) 69-66 on Wednesday evening. Alvark Tokyo outrebounded Tochigi Brex 41-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Jordan Taylor (187-89, college: Wisconsin, agency: Pensack Sports) who added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Tochigi Brex's coach Ryuzo Anzai tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Alvark Tokyo have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Nagoya DD and Shimane SM. Tochigi Brex at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Alvark Tokyo is looking forward to face Ibaraki R. (#10) in Mito in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tochigi Brex will play on the road against Gunma CT (#8) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
B1 League top team - Chiba Jets (18-6) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Toyama G. (8-16) 105-64. The winners were led by American power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) who scored that evening 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and Yuki Togashi supported him with 19 points and 8 assists. Even a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds by American center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) did not help to save the game for Toyama G.. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-6 record, which they share with Kawasaki BT. Toyama G. at the other side keeps the ninth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Yokohama BC. Chiba Jets will play against Shinshu BW (#7) in Nagano in the next round where they are favorite. Toyama G. will play on the road against Hiroshima D. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
B1 League top team - Ryukyu GK (21-3) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed tenth ranked San-en NP (4-20) in Hamamatsu 101-69. The best player for the winners was Allen Durham who scored 16 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Robert Carter who recorded 21 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ryukyu GK have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-3 record. Loser San-en NP keeps the tenth place with 20 games lost. Ryukyu GK will meet at home Hokkaido L. (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. San-en NP will play against the league's second-placed Kawasaki BT in Kanagawa and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 24: Hitachi SRT was destroyed by Akita NH on the opponent's court 72-52. Hiroshima D. outscored Shiga L-Stars in a home game 92-67. Gunma CT recorded a loss to Hokkaido L. on the road 106-96. Ibaraki R. was crushed by Kawasaki BT on its own court 65-104. Yokohama BC beat Niigata A. in a road game 86-75. Osaka E. was destroyed by Nagoya DD at home 84-108. Sea Horses M. unfortunately lost to Shimane SM on the opponent's court 78-92. Shinshu BW rolled over Kyoto H. in a home game 98-69.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 26 points and 12 rebounds by Josh Hawkinson of Shinshu BW.



Akita NH - Hitachi SRT 72-52

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Hitachi SRT (15-9) was crushed on the road by sixth ranked Akita NH (15-9) 72-52 on Wednesday. Akita NH had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Alex Davis (206-92, college: Fresno St.) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. Point guard Takuya Nakayama (182-94) chipped in 12 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward James McAdoo (206-93, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) who recorded 15 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Akita NH moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Hitachi SRT. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Chiba Jets players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Toyama G.'s players. The winners were led by American power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) who scored that evening 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and the former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) supported him with 19 points and 8 assists.
