Regular Season Round 24: Shinshu BW - Kyoto H. 98-69

Rather predictable result in Nagano where seventh ranked Shinshu BW (10-14) smashed 11th ranked Kyoto H. (3-21) 98-69 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Kyoto H. 34-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. Shinshu BW shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 55.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. Naturalized American guard Louis Kurihara (188-96, college: Whittier) chipped in 17 points. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) who recorded 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Justin Harper (208-89, college: Richmond) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Shinshu BW maintains seventh position with 10-14 record. Kyoto H. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 21 games lost. Shinshu BW will meet league's leader Chiba Jets on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kyoto H. will play against Sea Horses M. (#5) and hope to secure a win.
