Round 21 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Kawasaki BT (16-5). They were defeated by second ranked Chiba Jets (16-5) 86-78 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kawasaki BT. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Chiba Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import guard Christopher Smith (193-94, college: Utah St.) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. Chiba Jets' coach Atsushi Ono used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Kawasaki BT. Kawasaki BT will play next round against Osaka E. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Chiba Jets will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Hitachi SRT in Tokyo.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Tokyo. 3rd placed host Hitachi SRT (14-7) lost to first ranked Ryukyu GK (18-3) 89-85. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) nailed 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and Allen Durham accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward James McAdoo (206-93, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds for Hitachi SRT in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ryukyu GK have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-3 record. Hitachi SRT lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Ryukyu GK will play against Yokohama BC (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hitachi SRT will play against the league's leader Chiba Jets (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Gunma was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Akita NH (13-8) played at the court of 7th ranked Gunma CT (10-11). Akita NH defeated Gunma CT 81-68 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Colton Iverson who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Akita NH's coach Kenzo Maeda allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Michael Parker who recorded 20 points and 7 rebounds. Akita NH moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Hiroshima D. Gunma CT lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Hokkaido L.. Akita NH will meet at home Hiroshima D. Hokkaido L. managed to beat Kyoto H. on the road 85-81. San-en NP was defeated by Osaka E. on its own court 75-86. Hiroshima D. smashed Niigata A. in a road game 82-63. Sea Horses M. was destroyed by Tochigi Brex at home 62-86. Yokohama BC managed to outperform Shiga L-Stars on the opponent's court 98-85. Shimane SM managed to beat Shinshu BW in a home game 75-67.



Alvark Tokyo - Ibaraki R. 98-73

Very expected game when 10th ranked Ibaraki R. (3-18) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Alvark Tokyo (14-7) 98-73 on Sunday. Alvark Tokyo outrebounded Ibaraki R. 39-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz (205-94, college: Ole Miss) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American point guard Jordan Taylor (187-89, college: Wisconsin, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists.
