Very expected game when 10th ranked Ibaraki R. (3-18) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Alvark Tokyo (14-7) 98-73 on Sunday. Alvark Tokyo outrebounded Ibaraki R. 39-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz (205-94, college: Ole Miss) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American point guard Jordan Taylor (187-89, college: Wisconsin, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who recorded 30 points and the other American import Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: Arizona St.) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Four Ibaraki R. players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Alvark Tokyo. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Ibaraki R. lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with San-en NP and Kyoto H.. Alvark Tokyo will meet Hokkaido L.
