Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Second defeat of league's leader Dolphins (13-2) against second ranked Velca (13-2) 95-87 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of Dolphins. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Nagasaki made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for Jarrell Brantley (201-1996, college: Charleston) who led his team to a victory with 31 points and 4 assists. Stanley Johnson (201-1996, college: Arizona) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. Center Alan Williams (203-1993, college: UCSB) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds for Nagoya DD. Dolphins' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Nagasaki keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Nagoya DD. Nagoya DD will play next round against Kyoto H. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Nagasaki will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked San-en NP in Hamamatsu.
Important game to mention about took place in Tokyo. Fourth ranked Alvark (9-6) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked SunRockers (6-9) 91-90 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SunRockers. It was a great evening for Spanish Sebastian Saiz (205-1994, college: Ole Miss) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 8 rebounds. Ryan Rossiter helped adding 14 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was international forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) with 32 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Alvark Tokyo moved-up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams. Sunrockers Sh. at the other side keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Alvark Tokyo will play against league's second-placed Tochigi Brex at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sunrockers Sh. will play against Kawasaki (#13) in Kanagawa and hopes to get back on the winning track.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 15: Gunma CT smashed Akita NH on the road 76-55. Hiroshima D. destroyed Tochigi Brex on its own court 103-76. Shiga L-Stars unfortunately lost to Hokkaido L. in Sapporo 99-108. Kyoto H. managed to beat Ibaraki R. at home 73-62. Osaka E. defeated Saga B. on the opponent's court 83-81. Yokohama BC beat Toyama G. in a home game 107-94. Kawasaki lost to Chiba on the road 76-88. Sea Horses M. outscored Sendai 89ers on its own court 101-72. Koshigaya A. managed to beat FE Nagoya in Tokyo 82-64. Chiba Jets defeated Shimane SM at home 96-82. Sendai 89ers were beaten by Sea Horses M. on the opponent's court 80-74.
The most impressive performance of 15th round was 21 points and 7 rebounds by Jake Layman of Sea Horses M..




San-en NP - Ryukyu GK 83-81

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Golden Kings (9-6) against ninth ranked NeoPhoenix (7-8) on Sunday night. Visiting Golden Kings were edged by NeoPhoenix in a tough game in Hamamatsu 81-83. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Golden Kings. San-en NP looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American-Nigerian swingman David Nwaba (195-1993, college: Cal Poly) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Nwaba is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Victor Law (201-1995, college: Northwestern, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with 20 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Ryan Rossiter (206-1989, college: Siena) added 18 points respectively for Ryukyu in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Golden Kings' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Thunders' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. New Zealand-German center Yannick Wetzell (206-1996, college: SDSU) came up with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Australian power forward Keanu Pinder (210-1995, college: Arizona) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Akita NH in the defeat. Thunders have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Gunma CT moved-up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams. Akita NH lost fourth consecutive game. There was a minor upset when second-best Tochigi Brex (12-3) was smashed by fifth ranked Dragonflies (9-6) in Hiroshima 103-76 on Sunday. Hiroshima D. dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Tochigi Brex's 24 and made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Tochigi Brex 46-24 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hiroshima D. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Christopher Smith (193-1994, college: Utah St.) who led the winners and scored 35 points (!!!).
